Bookings
Bookings are not valid until the appropriate deposit has been received by us along with the booking request form.
DAMAGE DEPOSIT
A damage deposit of £100 is required to secure the booking. This is refundable via bank transfer or paypal within 7 days of vacating the cottage providing no damage has been incurred or excessive cleaning required.
Full payment for the accommodation is required 30 days prior to arrival. For bookings made less than 30 days before arrival, full payment plus the damage deposit is required.

• Paypal to info@oldhallcottage.co.uk – incurs a 3% surcharge
• Currently we are unable to accept debit or credit cards.
Arrival
The cottage is available from 4pm on your day of arrival.
Departure
The cottage is required to be vacated by 10.30am on your day of departure.
Alterations/Cancellations
By You:
IF CANCELLATIONS ARE DUE TO GOVERNMENT IMPOSED TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS, WE OFFER A FULL REFUND OR YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR DATES. IN RETURN, IF WE ARE FORCED TO CLOSE DUE TO LOCAL GOVERNMENT RESTRICTIONS, WE ASKED FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING AND A FULL REFUND WILL STILL BE GIVEN.
Should you wish to make any amendments to your booking after it has been confirmed we will do everything possible to accommodate any request. Cancellations will incur the following charges, unless it is due to government restrictions:
More than 30 days notice of cancellation – Loss of deposit only
30 days or less notice of cancellation – Full payment required
Forced Cancellations:
If a cancellation is forced due to transport disruption, event cancellation, sudden illness or any other reason, 30 days or less before the scheduled arrival date, payment in full is still required. We therefore strongly advise that guests purchase suitable travel insurance to cover their trip.
Cancellations By Us:
We hope and expect to be able to provide you with all the services we have confirmed with you at the time of booking. If we have to make a significant change to your booking (i.e. a change of date or accommodation) we will provide you with these alternatives:
*an alternative date at no additional charge
*a full refund of all payments made.
All Guests are advised to take out adequate travel insurance to protect from unseen events.
Cleaning and Repairs
Included in the cost of your accommodation is an allowance for a reasonable amount of cleaning and wear and tear. Cleaning materials are available in the cottage for you to use so that the cottage can be left as you would expect to find it.
Excessive cleaning/stain removal required will result in the loss of the damage deposit.
Smoking
Smoking is not permitted inside the cottage. Smoking is permitted in the cottage grounds.
Pets
Pets and especially dogs must be under your control at all times.
The cottage is near to sheep and cattle grazing land. Dogs are not permitted into fields were grazing animals are present at any time without the farmers permission.
Pets are not permitted on the furniture in the cottage and we request that wet animals are rubbed down thoroughly before being allowed entrance into the cottage. Dog towels are provided by us.
An area is provided for dogs to go to the toilet and any waste must be collected and binned immediately.
Pets must not be left unattended in the cottage.
Damage caused by animals may incur remedial charges and result in the loss of the damage deposit.
Guests pets must be safe around children, other dogs, cats and chickens as these live close by.
Parties Over 6 People
Old Hall Cottage is not covered by insurance for parties of over 6 people. By signing the terms and conditions such parties will be accepting an insurance waiver and will be fully responsible for any damage to the property or personal injury whilst in the cottage and its grounds.
